MARKETING OF YOUR AIRCRAFT
OUR MARKETING PLANS ARE BASED ON THE INDIVIDUAL AIRCRAFT AND WORLD ECONIMIC CONDITIONS. WE NEVER ASSUME WHAT HAS WORKED IN THE PAST WILL WORK IN THE FUTURE. HOWEVER, THE FOLLOWING DEMONSTRATES SOME GENERAL GUIDELINES WE USE TO PREPARE YOUR AIRCRAFT FOR THE SALES MARKET.
Your Aircraft vs The Competition: How Do You Stack Up?
The key to receiving the best possible price for your aircraft in the shortest time is knowing who and what else is on the market and responding accordingly.
Central Business Jets, in addition to being a member of aircraft multi listing services, conducts its own on-going market research including telemarketing and direct contacts. This gives our professionals the inside story on aircraft already in the market...as well as those about to come up for sale.
Our proprietary JetTrack® market analysis tool enables us to track and project trends for dozens of aircraft types, and to share this information with our clients in simple, logical reports.
Make Your Aircraft The Finest It Can Be
Often, it’s the attention to inexpensive and simple details that turn an ordinary aircraft into a showpiece. Pay special attention to each and every component from tires to tail and cockpit to baggage compartment.
Make everything sparkle!
Shine chrome items to a mirror finish...
Touch up cabinetry items with stain and wood polish...
Have the carpet, seats and headliner shampooed...
Clean all cockpit elements including instruments, gauges, switches and panel...
Consider enhancement items like carpet runners, fine china, crystal and a completely appointed galley including flowers, current newspapers and magazines.
On the exterior, screw heads and peeling paint should be touched up, or have sections repainted as needed (rarely does the whole aircraft need to be repainted).
Take care of simple maintenance items, such as replacing burned out light bulbs, repairing fuel leaks and seepage, fix inoperative window shades, broken handles and faulty cabinet doors.
Most of these are simple items but they can have a dramatic effect on the sale of your aircraft. Your Central Business Jets professional will give you specific advice for your aircraft and can recommend competent resources to do the work.
Know Your Potential Buyer
Is your aircraft the type that will best fit a buyers needs?
Central Business Jets provides all potential purchasers of your aircraft with a factory authorized Performance Summary to aid their decision making process. We pay special attention to those features that will make your aircraft stand out in the mind of each prospect based on our investigation of their specific needs.
Most importantly, can the prospect afford your aircraft? We qualify all serious prospects by a Dun & Bradstreet report and/or a financial institution statement of review.
Finding A Potential Buyer
Central Business Jets locates buyers through many sources.
As a brokerage agency, we receive calls every day from many buyers looking for a variety of aircraft. We keep extensive records of who owns what aircraft and in particular, who is a candidate to move up to the type of aircraft we are marketing.
As an aircraft telemarketing agency, we locate owners around the world who want to sell their present aircraft and replace it with another of similar type. That replacement aircraft could buy yours and Central Business Jets has the ability to hold such a trade in inventory, providing a critical financial bridge.
As an aircraft direct marketing agency, we will send information about your aircraft to select brokers with a high level of integrity and who have expressed interest in your aircraft. We will also send information to current aircraft owners who have a history of purchasing your type of aircraft.
Finally, to generate widespread exposure for your aircraft, Central Business Jets advertises in virtually all aviation trade periodicals covering most potential buyers. We are also on the internet with a web site featuring available aircraft at www.cbjets.com.
Professional Presentation
Preparation of a Specification Sheet plays an important role in further development of a buyer. In addition to providing basic information about airframe and engine times, avionics, interior configurations, exterior color and maintenance history, the sheet also emphasizes special points of interest.
If a picture is worth a thousand words, a set of outstanding, professional photographs of your aircraft, inside and out, can be worth even more in terms of dollars. Average aircraft photography simply communicates basic information about the equipment (and sometimes not even that!). Even a bright and attractive aircraft can appear dull and gloomy if lighting is not adequate.
Great aircraft photography attracts attention, adds drama and instills a sense of quality in a buyer, before they even see the aircraft in person. Such photographs emphasize the highlights of your aircraft...or mitigate the drawbacks. For example, a short, wide aircraft can be made to look long and sleek with the proper camera positioning.
Compare the Central Business Jets photographs accompanying this presentation with those in aviation trade publications and see what a difference a photograph can make. It’s another part of Central Business Jets difference.
Handling All The Details; From Start to Finish
Once the potential buyer has reached a decision to submit an offer, we will contact you immediately, help you determine whether the proposal is satisfactory and discuss what alternatives might be pursued.
When a mutually agreed sales contract is obtained, our representative requests a deposit to secure the offer using an approved escrow agency. However, until the final closing the aircraft remains on the market to encourage ongoing interest should the final closing not transpire.
As a general rule, the buyer, at their expense, requests a Pre Purchase Inspection of your aircraft. Your Central Business Jets professional will be present for this inspection to mitigate over inspecting and give you a first hand account of any issues.
Claims, if any, will be reviewed with you immediately following the inspection and we will handle negotiations with the buyer to reach a fair settlement on items found not to be within manufacturer’s prescribed limits.
Prior to the closing date, Central Business Jets will ensure all funds and documentation (FAA and contractual) are in place for a smooth, unencumbered transfer.
